article are not only beneficial in relieving constipation but are also very
effective in getting rid of other stomach problems like gas, indigestion and
bloating. Let's find out.
Have you ever noticed that most people, even youngsters can’t sit on
the ground properly? We have become so used to sitting on a chair that we have
lost touch with our childlike ability to stand, fall and get up the next
moment. Due to disuse, our bodies have lost elasticity of movement. Our knees
are stiff. Our whole body is no longer agile. We no longer wish to walk, if we
can avoid it. All these inactivates have stiffened our body. It is no longer
flexible.
The first of the yoga poses to get relief from constipation is known
as Malasan Yoga
This yoga asana is very beneficial for our whole body. You don’t need a chair or any other facility. You stay grounded. To do this asana, you just have to keep your feet flat on the floor, widen your knees and put your hands between your knees by joining them in a prayer pose. Try to sit for a minute initially. At the start, it is difficult to sit in this pose. You will experience pain in your whole leg while trying to sit. Because of lack of flexibility, your legs will refuse to go along with you r mind. Thighs and calves refuse to fall in line. Gradually improve the time in squatting position to 2, 3 minutes. Try to do 5 sets each day in the morning. Malasana not only prevents constipation but also opens up your hips, improves digestive system and makes bowel movement easier. Doing Malasana yoga regularly will strengthen your abdominal and pelvic muscles, reduce joint pain and you will be able to sit easily.
Dhanurasan yoga
Dhanurasana (Bow pose)
Dhanurasana is also very beneficial for making the body flexible and
relieving constipation. To do this asana, first you have to lie down on your
stomach and bend your knees, then hold your ankles with your hands and lift
your chest and thighs off the floor. This asana stretches the abdominal
muscles, massages the digestive organs and relieves constipation. Apart from
this, Dhanurasana yoga strengthens the muscles of the stomach, legs and back,
makes the spine flexible and reduces stress.
Bhujangasan yoga
Bhujangasana (Cobra pose)
Bhujangasana is the third yoga in this set of 3 poses. It is extremely
helpful in relieving constipation. There is no need to twist the body in any
way in this asana, which makes it easy even for beginners. Bhujangasana not
only relieves the problem of constipation but also helps in reducing other
digestive problems like gas, abdominal bloating and indigestion. This asana
strengthens the abdominal muscles and improves digestion. You can easily do
this asana by lying on your stomach on the floor, placing your palms under the
shoulders and keeping the pelvis (the part between the stomach and thighs) on
the ground. By doing this asana regularly, you don’t only get rid of the
problem of constipation but banish it from your life to a great extent.
